Steve has managed to talk himself down by the time he gets to Chrissy's house. because isn't that the point of feeling it out? even if the spinner doesn't land on date, it's not like it's a bad thing to have a female friend. in fact, Robin is the best friend he has ever had, and she is definitely a girl. this will be good, no matter what. Chrissy is sweet, really sweet. she managed to climb the ranks of Hawkins High by being decent to people, which not even Steve can claim.
he's looking forward to it, even if he has no idea where the night is going to end.
Steve considers texting Chrissy when he arrives, but decides if she's looking out for him she doesn't need the update. he can't quite sit in his car waiting for her, though. he'll at least want to open it for her, that's how his momma raised him. so Steve gets out and leans against the hood of his car. he kicks an errant ball back across the street to a pair of kids playing catch. it's weirdly nice to watch normal kids be... normal. he's a little bit early, anyway, having only checked his hair and gargled some Listerine and called it good, so if he's cooling his heels for a few minutes, it'll suit him fine. )
